THE BLUE PANTHERS
Born of a love of pure jazz from the golden age of Blue Note, Latin and Beebop, the Blue Panthers is a trio of sax, piano and guitar offering softer sounds for cocktails, weddings, and relaxation. We play classics by Jobim, Porter, Brubeck, Gershwin, Bill Evans, Ray Charles, Mancini and many more.
We are a smart, punctual band, with full public liability insurance of 10 million pounds, fully DBS checked and happy to add a bit of glamour and atmosphere to any event within the UK. Our small footprint makes playing possible in most spaces, provided you have electricity.THE BLUE PANTHERS
MUSICIANS
The Panthers play mainly as a trio - but are available in various formations, and as a duo for more intimate venues.
Will Pears Cooper
Will is a session guitarist and guitar teacher based in North London. He studied Popular Music at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, graduating in 2016. Having performed regularly with numerous acts on the Cambridge funk, rock and jazz scenes, Will moved to London in 2022 to expand his musical horizons. Will performs regularly with Cambridge based function band Moves Til’ Midnight as well lecturing in Music Performance at Anglia Ruskin University and tutoring both privately and at schools in and around London. He specialises in jazz comping and improvisation.
Javier Dominguez
Saxophonist and composer.
Studied music and harmony at EMC music school in Madrid and was later mentored by Bobby Martinez, Bob Sands & Roman Filiú. He specialises in jazz music and improvisation with a deep study into the history of jazz and world music genres. Javier toured regularly in Madrid and surrounding cities playing in clubs, theatres and festivals, leading several bands. In 2012 he arrived in London where he entered the jazz scene regularly playing in venues, working as a studio musician and music educator. After freelancing in several jazz and soul bands he has finally settled with two new promising projects “The Blue Panthers” and “Ally & the Allies”. His style combines the tradition of the jazz originators with the seasoning of folkloric and contemporary influences.
Adrian Tanner
A guitarist with a background in various rock and funk bands. After putting an early interest in music aside in favour of making films, Adrian soon combined the two, acting as a session player on various film soundtracks, then composing and arranging the full score for Burnout (2021) and supplying cues for several other films playing guitar bass and keyboards, as well as orchestral arranging. His transition to jazz came about through regular appearances on the London jam circuit and studies with Jamie McRedie (Jo Harrap) and Ryan Williams (The Horne Section). Now with The Blue Panthers, Adrian specialises in walking basslines and percussive playing to create the bands unique jazz-bossa sound.
